"Epic" yard sale adventure

Mother Nature finally cooperated on a Saturday for Jules and I to visit yard sales.
In preparing for the trip we checked classified ads and Craigslist for yard sales in our general area. We decided to go to the one farthest away and work our way back toward home.
Jules entered the address into her GPS on her smartphone and we were off…sort of. In a very pleasant British accent the lady guiding us to our destination seemed to want to take us on a tour of our town of barely 2,000 people. We knew we had to get on the nearby four-lane road so we ignored the early directions.
Here we go…again, sort of. We hit thick fog that slowed our adventure. Then the kind British voice coming from Jules’ phone wanted us to take a left where there wasn’t one.
   Recalculating…
We stopped to get a few refreshments and get straight on our route.
Here is where I want to take a brief moment to mention the cotton candy donut holes we picked up at our stop. Have I been hiding under a rock? How did I not know about these wonderful little puffs of sweet pastry goodness?
Jules decided to use a different navigator and finally we headed full steam to our destination. The advertisement for the yard sale promised “Epic Yard Sale. Don’t Miss Out.” It took us about 40 minutes to get there.
Apparently folks have different definitions of the word “epic.” First, there were no signs directing us to this monster of a sale so we missed our turn. Once we got on the right road we went past a couple of young adults sitting along side the road behind a few tables. Some stuff was strewn about but it was hard to see what all was there.
Live and learn I guess. We didn’t stop. We just turned around and headed back the way we came.
Yard sale number two ended up being a bust. In fact, it ended up not even being. No signs, no folks out in the yard. A couple of other cars were there looking for it too. I guess the homeowners changed their minds about a sale.
Hmmmm, maybe we’re not too good at this. Maybe we need a “Yard Sale for Dummies.”
A hot air balloon was a nice distraction as we tried to figure out what to do next.
The yard sale adventure did not end here. Be sure to check back tomorrow for the second part of our morning.

Haha!!! Let's go again? You ready? I'm in the market for a broken baby gate and dirty old shoes!

Jules!
