Creating bracelets and earrings for matching sets

   I’m continuing my adventure in wire bracelets and now I am throwing matching earrings into the mix.

   Maybe one of these days I will actually create three-piece sets – bracelet, earrings and necklace. For the time being, here’s a sampling of the two-piece sets I made.

   Some sets took longer to make than others. The star bracelet was an experiment in wire forming. I used the 16-gauge galvanized wire I purchased in the hardware department of a local store a while back. Once I had a length of wire to work with I experimented with needle-nosed pliers to bend and form curves. I wasn’t sure what would develop. I had some extra star beads so I decided to make matching earrings. For those I used ear wires and head pins.

   The orange and purple wire-wrapped cuff bracelet follows the form of the many I’ve made in the past. For the gold cuff bracelet, I used a center bead that sort of looks vintage, then worked in smaller coordinating beads. There is a difference in the gold cuff in that I used three lengths of wire instead of two.

   By now you may have noticed a color theme – orange. My favorite color happens to be green, but I am using shades of orange (and purple) because of my proximity to Clemson University. I eventually would like to sell some of the jewelry pieces I create. I haven’t settled on a selling option yet, but it is important that I know I have a potential customer base in the nearby Clemson University fans.

   This will not stop me, however, from using other colors and expanding my inventory.
